The Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) is a professional association that confers the designations of Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) and Certified Technician (C.Tech.).  With 28 chapters in Ontario and 28 employees at its head office in western Toronto, OACETT supports the development and recognition of more than 25,000 members in engineering and applied science technology.

Job Description

The Manager, Admissions and Certification oversees all aspects of the certification process for OACETT members in accordance with established policies and procedures.  The manager mentors, advises and oversees Certification Coordinators and file reviewers, supports the admissions, examination and review committees of the Institute of Engineering Technology of Ontario within OACETT, and liaises with exam vendors and colleges regarding Professional Practice Exams and other credentialing.

The manager is responsible for: administering the OACETT membership admissions process and guiding applicants on their individual transition to certified status; scheduling and facilitating committee meetings, developing agendas and taking minutes; keeping detailed statistics on the status of member files; performing quality assurance checks to ensure all file reviews are timely, accurate, consistent and comply with policies and procedures; communicating with members on certification timelines and problem-solving as necessary; and controlling document management including academic records and other databases used in assessments of continuing education, course equivalencies and competencies. 

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, systematic thinker and resourceful problem-solver with outstanding verbal and written communication skills.  Analytical and technically competent, you are expert at working effectively under pressure, multi-tasking and managing shifting priorities.  With a strong commitment to accountability and personal customer service, you are a collaborative motivator and facilitator with a track record of successful management of committees and other teams.   

This is a full-time position scheduled to commence before the end of April 2017.  Experience in the regulatory or non-profit sectors is a definite asset.  A competitive salary and an attractive benefits package await the right candidate.
