The Manager, Admissions and Certification oversees all aspects of the certification process for OACETT members in accordance with established policies and procedures. The manager mentors, advises and oversees Certification Coordinators and file reviewers, supports the admissions, examination and review committees of the Institute of Engineering Technology of Ontario within OACETT, and liaises with exam vendors and colleges regarding Professional Practice Exams and other credentialing.
The manager is responsible for: administering the OACETT membership admissions process and guiding applicants on their individual transition to certified status; scheduling and facilitating committee meetings, developing agendas and taking minutes; keeping detailed statistics on the status of member files; performing quality assurance checks to ensure all file reviews are timely, accurate, consistent and comply with policies and procedures; communicating with members on certification timelines and problem-solving as necessary; and controlling document management including academic records and other databases used in assessments of continuing education, course equivalencies and competencies.
