Job Description

Reporting to the President & CEO, the main purpose of this position is to develop and deliver professional development events across Canada; manage the logistics of the professional development events; continue to build recognition and participation in the certification program; maintain the CIRI website; and provide support for social media communications.

Professional Development Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the annual professional development program, including the Annual Conference, Essentials of Investor Relations, Senior IRO Forums, a Small Cap event, webinars and other events as required
  • Prepare annual budgets for professional development program
  • Prepare and implement a marketing plan to promote attendance at professional development events
  • Identify speakers for the professional development events and work with them to develop content
  • Coordinate all logistical requirements (venue, food & beverage, A/V equipment, webcasts, shipments and on-site registrations) for professional development events
  • Set up events in database and complete event registrations/confirmations
  • Prepare summaries following events including evaluation summaries, financial performance, speaker ratings, etc.
  • Support CIRI’s Chapter Executives, ensuring a high degree of co-ordination between Chapter and CIRI National events to maximize attendance

Additional Annual Conference Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Committee to develop the program and secure speakers
  • Work with the speakers to develop content
  • Act as project manager for the Annual Conference website and marketing materials including sourcing speaker biographies, photos and presentations
  • Prepare and organize content for the Program Brochure and Program Guide
  • Coordinate recreational activities with vendors and participants
  • Coordinate ordering & assembly of conference delegate materials including: program guide, conference bags, name badge holders, presentations, session evaluations, speaker bios and delegate list
  • Work with sponsor to prepare the webcast archives post-conference
  • Prepare conference evaluation survey and communicate to delegates post-conference
  • Prepare thank you letters to speakers, sponsors and our suppliers post-conference

Certification Responsibilities:

  • Execute a marketing plan for the Certification Program
  • Liaise with the Ivey Business School on Program applications
  • Participate on the Certification Governance Committee
  • Prepare and mark the Certified Professional in Investor Relations (CPIR) exams
  • Market the Belle Mulligan Scholarship for the Certification Program
  • Participate on the Belle Mulligan Scholarship Selection Committee

Website/Social Media Responsibilities:

  • Update all areas of the website for CIRI National and Chapters (as needed)
  • Post content to LinkedIn and Twitter
  • Create schedule for content updates
  • Track changes in social media activity

Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree
  • 3+ years experience in Investor Relations or related role are an asset
  • Event planning experience
  • Project management experience
  • PowerPoint and InDesign experience are an asset
  • Strong communication abilities
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Motivated self-starter, able to work independently in a multi-priority environment
  • Ability to interface and work cooperatively in a small team and across the organization
  • Ability to travel
