Digital Media Manager



Job Description


Position Profile

Reporting to the Director of Communications this position will support the communication’s work of the Canadian Health Food Association (CHFA) focusing on digital content development including the CHFA website and various social media platforms.



  • Manage all CHFA digital assets including, monthly digital content packages, website, social channels, email campaigns, etc., ensuring a consistent and appropriate online presence for the association 

  • Manage and oversee the implementation of the annual online advertising plan and budget

  • Proven ability to produce successful paid Facebook advertising campaigns to achieve measurable growth tracked through Facebook insights

  • Proven ability to grow Instagram and Twitter followers through engaging posts, ads, giveaways and contests, tracking progress through platform analytics

  • Proven ability to optimize YouTube channel for increased growth and engagement, including managing YouTube ad campaigns and understanding of YouTube analytics

  • Manage monthly digital content calendar, to oversee the development of blog posts, video scripts and monthly social media calendar

  • Experience analyzing campaign objectives vs. performance data, and identifying strategies for maximizing campaign ROI

  • Create and maintain monthly analytics, and campaign reporting based on annual goals

  • Support the development of various weekly and bi-weekly external communications, including overseeing and supporting the execution of email marketing campaigns, including: contact segmentation, A/B testing, testing, reporting and analysis

  • Oversee the ongoing maintenance and update of including working with the website agency on site updates and working with internal departments to assist with their website edits

  • Monitor and remain current on new trends, ideas, technologies and approaches in web and social media, and incorporate as appropriate to increase user engagement and content effectiveness

  • Assist with writing, copywriting, editing, and proof reading various internal and external communication pieces

  • Manage the daily activities conducted by the Communications Coordinator

  • Provide support to the Communications Director and handle additional projects and tasks, as assigned


Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum five years’ relevant experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Digital Marketing, Social Media or PR-related discipline preferred

  • Advanced competencies in website management: content management systems (CMS); experience working with HTML

  • Demonstrated proficiency using Google Analytics, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram and Pinterest in a professional capacity

  • Experience with social management tools (eg. Hootsuite, Facebook Business Manager and Twitter Insights, etc.)

  • Superior written communication skills with demonstrated web writing ability

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and PowerPoint

  • A higher level of understanding and/or passion of the natural health products and organics industry

  • Ability to multitask various projects and prioritize appropriately and effectively


    Strong Assets

  • Bilingual in English and French with comprehensive verbal and written ability in both official languages
