The Canadian Transportation Equipment Association (CTEA) works with small, medium and large trailer and vocational truck manufacturers through programs and services that are tailored to enhance its members' manufacturing capabilities. The Association manages to do so by helping members understand and comply with legislated requirements, e.g. vehicle weights & dimensions, the Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standards and many other compliance issues. In addition, CTEA has developed partnerships with service providers that can assist with HR issues, employee benefit programs and other business concerns.

Job Description

Based on the direction of the Board of Directors, establish and execute a strategic plan for the association.  Specific goals for both the association and staff will be established, and resources will be prioritized to accomplish each.  Ensure frequent contact with members is achieved in order to understand challenges, opportunities, and member perspectives are considered and communicated to other applicable stakeholders.

  • Shall be responsible for implementing the strategic plans and policies of the association
  • Shall have, subject to the authority of the board, general supervision of the affairs of the association
  • Lead the CTEA staff to ensure individual performance expectations are met
  • Support CTEA staff through effective administrative activities such as payroll, training,
  • Provides management of CTEA affairs, and supplies essential member services on a daily basis.
  • Promotes the CTEA goals and objectives in business activities.
  • Promote CTEA membership to industry Stakeholders.
  • Initiate and develop programs in conjunction with CTEA working committees and issues.
  • Oversee the development of agendas and budgets for all CTEA Board of Director meetings and the CTEA Annual Manufacturers’ Conference.
  • Planning and execution of the annual conference
  • Signing authority on all cheques and contracts on CTEA's behalf, with the approval of the CTEA Board of Directors
  • Responsible for the co-ordination and preparation of all CTEA marketing and promotional activities, including publication of the CTEA eXpress newsletter and the CTEA website
  • Ensure a bi-lingual element is maintained in all CTEA publications
  • Handles incoming calls and requests for CTEA membership services and provides member administrative services.
  • Develops and implements activities designed to attract new members, and follows up with prospective new members to the CTEA.
  • Maintains the CTEA database, planning CTEA participation in truck shows, etc.
