Director of Finance and Operations
As a member of CDHA’s dynamic leadership team, the director of finance and operations is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the financial and operational activities of CDHA’s national office.
Areas of responsibility include: audit preparation, annual budgeting for CDHA and the related foundation CFDHRE, cash flow management and compliance with all financial and tax regulatory/statutory requirements and reporting. Requires a sound understanding of human resource management and related policies. Must be able to maintain the property and monitor office conditions for safety purposes. Responsible for managing the membership team and the information technology team, and will be involved in strategic planning for both departments.
The director of finance and operations will work collaboratively with CDHA staff, the external auditor, the employee benefits broker, various maintenance contractors, association members and external service providers.
The successful candidate will have a post-secondary degree in accounting or administration with leadership experience in the not for profit sector. A minimum of eight years of broad financial and operations management experience, with a minimum of five years at a senior management level is required.
The ideal individual will have excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem solving skills. We are seeking an employee with excellent knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices, strong excel skills and superior written and oral communications skills. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, pay attention to details, and be discrete. Additional proficiencies include the ability to inspire and develop staff and a strong, collaborative outcomes-based approach.
