Executive Director

As Executive Director (ED), you will be actively participating and “thought partnering” with an engaged membership, Board of Directors, partners and all contributors to CSCM’s success.  You will accomplish this by being present, approachable, accessible and diplomatic. Your role will be that of strategist, collaborator, advocate, ambassador for the profession and champion for change.  As an ideal candidate, you are a skilled leader with not-for-profit association experience leading organizations towards ambitious goals.  The ED is responsible and accountable for the Society’s overall performance through the implementation of the strategic plan, achievement of corporate goals, and effectively bringing attention to national issues affecting leadership in professional club management.  S/he will bring thoughtful guidance in engagement with members and key stakeholders, including regional Branches and corporate partners, and in strengthening the identity, position and voice of the profession. The ED facilitates the delivery of a solid member value proposition, and implements a variety of communications strategies to raise awareness of the profession with current and potential members, club governing bodies, the general public and all its stakeholders.

Highly visible and interactive, the successful new ED will be professional in personal style, demeanor and presence, who is comfortable interacting with all members, staff and other constituents who contribute to the success of the organization.  The candidate will possess the proven experience and ability to lead a team of friendly, engaging and passionate staff who are sincere about delivering an excellent member and partner experience, commensurate with one of the top not-for-profit associations in Canada. Experience working in a senior leadership role in the not-for-profit or national association or NGO sector, ideally with a style demonstrating a “members first” philosophy, would be an asset. S/he will possess excellent interpersonal and diplomatic skills, and will be an effective and transparent communicator in all respects, operating collegially and collaboratively at all levels.   S/he must be able to demonstrate strong marketing, communications and financial literacy skills relevant to success in a changing association world, and have an intuitive strength in building consensus, setting clear and measurable goals, and executing effectively to these targets.
