The Corporate HR and Resource Specialist supports the Manager of Board Affairs with Human Resources administration including all aspects of payroll, group benefits, STD/LTD, and DB and DC pension plans administration. This position also deals with budgets, planning and registration for all Council meetings, elections and the Annual General Meeting and the organization and minute-taking for Executive Board and other Council committee meetings, including extended hours. The Corporate HR & Resource Specialist is also the main contact for third-party management (tenant relations, office maintenance and property management) and would be a (certified) member of the Joint Health & Safety Committee. This role would also include researching and developing/updating policies and procedures according to ever-changing Government legislation.
The ideal candidate is a mature, highly organized and detail-oriented creative thinker and a responsive, resourceful problem-solver with excellent verbal and written communication skills. He/she would be adept at working effectively under many pressures with multiple deadlines, while multi-tasking and managing shifting priorities. With a strong commitment to accountability, dependability and confidentiality, you are flexible, practical, a quick learner and able to make sound decisions when required.
This is a full-time permanent position available immediately. HR/payroll experience and a high level of administrative experience are minimum requirements. Expert ability with Microsoft Office, including Excel spreadsheets, and a strong understanding of finance and budgeting are essential. Access to a personal vehicle is also a must (employer-paid parking is available and business-related mileage is reimbursed).
