Senior Manager, Marketing and Media

Position Overview:

The Senior Manager of Marketing and Media is responsible for the planning, development and implementation of all CCA marketing and media strategies. As a member of the Senior Management team and reporting to the Chief Brand Officer, the Sr. Manager of Marketing and Media’s role is to ensure the organization meets its strategic and operational objectives for internal and external marketing, specifically; digital and social media marketing, media and public relations management including crisis and issues management and oversees the senior graphic designer and community manager positions. This position works closely with the Sr. Manager of Member Engagement and the Chief Brand Officer to manage internal and external communications.

Key Responsibilities:

Marketing and Media Engagement: 70%

• Create, implement and measure the success of a marketing program to enhance the CCAs image and position within the marketplace and general public.

• Manage a media relations strategy to enhance CCAs relations with the media.

• Manage the production of communications in collaboration with the senior manager of member engagement, ensuring the vision and strategic objectives are achieved.

• Manage CCA Digital Presence; websites and social media community.

• Manage National Convention and Tradeshow including marketing, sales and sponsorship.

• Undertake communications with provincial associations and other stakeholders regarding marketing and media engagement strategies.

• Manages crisis and issues within the media in close collaboration with the Chief Brand Officer.

• Develops member engagement program in collaboration with the Senior Manager of Member Engagement as outlined in the CCA Strategic Plan.

Senior Management: 15%

• Keep abreast of developments in marketing, communications, media and public relations and brief the Chief Brand Officer on relevant issues as they arise.

• Work with the Chief Brand Officer toward the achievement of strategic objectives by providing general oversight and coordination of the various components of the strategic plan.

• Track the progress of strategic priorities in MARCOM, providing issue briefs and reports.

• As a member of the Senior Management team, participates in budget development and planning, strategic planning, issues management and overall leadership of the Association.

• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on behalf of the CCA as required and appropriate.

• Collaborates as required to launch all MARCOM programs/initiatives.

Team Development: 15%

• Coordinate and lead MARCOM team meetings.

• Recruit, hire, train and support department staff.

• Coach, mentor, supervise and complete performance reviews for direct reports

• Provide timely and effective feedback to team members.

• Uphold and manage staff in keeping with the CCA Team Values.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years supervisory/managerial experience

• 5+ years Marketing, Media and Communications Management

• CAE Designation an asset

• Association or health care sector experience

• Non-profit experience an asset

• Demonstrated skills and experience in marketing and communications

• Bilingualism (English & French) is an asset

Education:

• Post-secondary degree and 5 -7 years related progressive experience in marketing, communications and media relations

• Digital Management Education/certification

Experience:

• Demonstrated experience in media relations

• Communications, Marketing and Social media strategic development experience

• Demonstrated crisis and issue media management

• Digital asset management

• Project Management certification or demonstrated ability to manage complex projects

• Experience managing membership databases

• Experience working with Infusion Soft is an asset

• Project management and coordination skills

• Experience working with a Board of Directors and a senior leadership team

• Demonstrated success as a leader
