AdvantAge Ontario will be the recognized leader and champion of not-for-profit long-term care, seniors’ community services and housing.

AdvantAge Ontario is the provincial association representing not-for-profit providers of long-term care, services and housing for seniors. Nearly 100 years old, AdvantAge Ontario’s continuing and primary role is to provide a forum for effective leadership and support and to represent members’ issues with a strong voice so that they remain viable in a competitive and changing environment. AdvantAge Ontario members which include municipal, charitable and non-profit long-term care homes, seniors’ housing projects and community service agencies, serve over 36,000 long-term care residents annually and operate over 8,000 seniors’ housing units across the province.

Job Description

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO’s chief responsibility is to provide strategic executive leadership to AdvantAge Ontario, including the effective operation and growth of the organization. Under the authority of the Association’s bylaws and the policies of the Board of Directors, the CEO directs and oversees all activities of the Association. The CEO is responsible for creating strategic, tactical, and financial plans; developing goals and measuring performance against these goals; organizational development; liaison with the public, government, affiliated organizations and other stakeholders; developing member services and member development; and professional development of the association’s staff.

With a bias for solutions and a passion for not-for-profit healthcare excellence, the new Chief Executive Officer will take this sophisticated association to new levels of achievement in a rapidly changing environment.  Attuned to the nuances of a member-driven organization, the CEO will ideally be fully conversant with the not-for-profit/healthcare/seniors sector or possess association leadership experience translatable to our compelling opportunity.  Courageous and inspiring, the CEO will, in conjunction with the Board of Directors, collaborate with other industry players to support its members who provide a continuum of quality not-for-profit long term care, seniors’ community services and housing.

With substantive leadership experience at a provincial level, the new CEO will be an innovative leader with a track record of success on association advocacy positions.  The ideal candidate will possess exemplary government relations skills and will ensure optimal value-for-membership. Inspired by and attuned to the mission of AdvantAge Ontario, the professional required will be operationally sophisticated, have a bias for results, and will have an affinity for the dynamics of this exciting sector.
