Communications Assistant

The Communications Assistant provides general assistance and administrative support for CSEP communications and marketing organization and initiatives (website, print, e-communications, member portal, media, social media etc.). Reporting to the Senior Manager, Communications, this position works to support and enhance the CSEP brand and public image through supporting CSEP print and digital communications.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the execution of marketing and communications plans for various CSEP initiatives as required
  • Responsible for collating regular newsletter content and mailing lists for distribution
  • Support colleagues in gathering materials, research and data for the production of different communication projects and reporting
  • Assist in monitoring and collection of analytics of our online activities and media mentions
  • Support content creation relevant to various audiences for CSEP social media platforms
  • Responsible for updating the CSEP website and any microsites (i.e. conference website, member portal) as required and regularly reviewing content to ensure consistent and up to date information
  • Assist in ordering and coordinating print collateral items
  • Provide prompt responses to various enquiries as required
  • Draft basic communications as required
  • Stay on-top of best practices including digital / social media trends and tactics


Skills

  • Highly proficient in the use of current office equipment; CSEP operates in a Macintosh environment
  • Ability to work in an office environment within a team, and effectively communicate with other staff, CSEP members, and volunteers
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to prioritize and manage time efficiently
  • High level of professionalism
  • Excellent customer service acumen


Knowledge Requirements

  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Adobe Creative Content apps and basic graphic layout for web and print i.e., InDesign, Photoshop
  • Website content management, a comfortable working knowledge of HTML
  • Social media platforms (primarily Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook) content creation, analytics

Qualifications:

  • College diploma or higher along with relevant experience
  • Excellent English communications; French is an asset

 

FTE 0.8 approximately 30 hours per week.

Type of Position: Full time
Salary Range: $19-22 per hour based on experience
