Philanthropic Foundations Canada (PFC) is a national member association of Canadian grantmakers, including private and public foundations, charities and corporations. Our mission is to promote the growth and development of effective and responsible foundations and organized philanthropy in Canada through the provision of membership services, resources, and advocacy.


PFC was created as a non-profit membership association in 1999 and became a registered charity in 2002. We seek to support Canadian philanthropy and our members by:


  • encouraging public policies that promote philanthropy
  • increasing awareness of philanthropy’s contribution to Canadians’ well-being
  • providing opportunities for foundations to learn from each other

Job Description

You are passionate about philanthropy and energized at the opportunity to play an important role advancing philanthropy in Canada 

You are well positioned to provide thought leadership in philanthropy

You are a high-energy person, you have an entrepreneurial spirit and also enjoy collaborating and working cooperatively with team members

Your team members and supervisor enjoy your company and respect your contributions to the organization

You are thrilled at the opportunity of being the architect of an education strategy that will inspire innovation and mobilize philanthropic action for Canada’s philanthropic foundations

Your passion for learning is evident in the knowledge that you have generated for members and/or stakeholders in previous projects

You are a savvy researcher and will source information from articles, websites, grey literature as well as from sourcing best practices in philanthropy from stakeholders and conferences worldwide

You are a relationship builder and have experience fostering collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders in Canada and in other jurisdictions

You are excited at the opportunity to create value for members by engaging them in collaboration, learning, and evidence sharing and providing tools and resources to support philanthropic work

You are aware that PFC has provided valuable education on grantmaking for members and you are motivated to continue this work and mobilize knowledge 

You have experience supporting committees, affinity groups or issue-based networks by providing platforms and resources to mobilize action and change policy

You know what the acronym SDG stands for…

You are fluent in both English and French
