Executive Director

We are seeking an experienced, progressive and dynamic individual to be our strategic change leader to get our organization `to the next level’. Reporting to and collaborating with the Board of Directors, the Executive Director (ED) is responsible and accountable for EnviroCentre’s overall performance through the development and implementation of the strategic plan, achievement of business goals with operational efficiencies, and management of all financial operations and staff.  The organization's strategic objectives include achieving broader involvement with public policy, government relations and environmental issues on a local, regional and provincial basis, while always taking a business-minded approach. The ED develops strong relationships with local and provincial partners and stakeholders, and members of affiliated utilities, municipalities and associations.  S/he will facilitate the provision of a range of effective energy related services and programs, and will implement practical and effective marketing and public relations strategies to raise awareness of the need for energy conservation with potential partners, public and private agencies and the general public.  The ED, with their team, would be expected to innovative and develop new service delivery options that provide needed programs to a broader community.    

The ideal candidate will be a consensus builder, with a demonstrated depth in general management and business leadership skills to drive our multi-million dollar operation, along with proven abilities to motivate people, and build strong working relationships with staff. An understanding of how to identify and develop new business opportunities in environmentally oriented programs and services, along with exceptional skills in communications, stakeholder engagement, team development, strategic planning and execution are ideal.  Candidates will bring with them experience working in a senior leadership role in the business, not-for-profit, or association sectors, in addition to superior credentials in government/community relations and in marketing and communications.  S/he will be comfortable developing and leveraging business analytics, as well as operating collegially and collaboratively at all levels.  A post-secondary degree at the undergraduate level in a relevant discipline, and some competency in both official languages, would be highly desirable.
