National Executive Coordinator

Responsible for the management and organization of all national activities of the Federation of Medical Women of Canada as well as branch support. Reports to, takes direction from and is evaluated by the FMWC President and/or Treasurer.

POSITION SUMMARY
• Supervisory: responsible for the overall operation of the national office with direction from FMWC Executive. May include overseeing the work of any assistants, placement students or any temporary employees
• Financial: accountable for the budget and raising the funds needed to sustain FMWC’s operations (primarily through membership, event registrations and sponsorship). Responsible for managing daily finances and working with a bookkeeper to produce monthly and quarterly reports
• Event management: overall planning, budget development, marketing and implementation for the interim (January) and annual (September) meetings with relevant board members
• Project management: project planning, building partnerships and implementation i.e. public health campaign
• Communications: production of the FMWC newsletter, website, media releases, event programs and any other communication vehicles - you will have a part time communications person to provide content and technical support for social media
• Board support: provide support to board and committee members in carrying out respective responsibilities
• Members services: creating marketing strategies/promotional materials and new member services
• Branch support: support the development of new branches and branch activities

• Previous exposure working in a non-profit environment with a board of directors is an asset
• Creative-thinker, resourceful and teamwork skills
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks/projects
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• Excellent writing and communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail i.e. media relations, newsletter, website, social media and proposal writing
• Work well under pressure
• Proven ability to organize, take initiative and exercise good judgment
• Strategic thinking and analytical skills
• Ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships with professionalism and integrity
• Exhibits a positive attitude and uses courtesy, diplomacy and discretion

• Thorough project and event management experience
• Adept at developing and maintaining partnerships with external stakeholders i.e. sponsors and other medical associations
