Reporting to the CEO, the Executive Director, Scouting Experience (ED) will lead a dynamic team dedicated to the achievement of our Mission, and will maintain a strong focus on safe, high quality and youth-led adventures to gain necessary life skills. The ED will provide vision and leadership to several key teams including Programs, Field Services, Volunteer Services, Marketing & Communications and Revenue Development. It will be critical in this role to collaboratively build important liaisons with staff, volunteers, external partners and stakeholders to continue advancement of Scouts Canada’s mandate. A demonstrable record of leading complex, multi-constituent organizations, and success in anticipating and delivering on programs and service needs through numerous delivery channels are desirable. The ideal candidate will be a builder and mentor who is passionate about shaping a positive organizational culture, and growing talent to deliver tomorrow's best practices in programs and services.
The ideal candidate will have successfully led people, strategy and change in a complex, multi-stakeholder and multi-issue environment. Operational experience in a senior leadership role in the not-for-profit or national association/NGO sector, ideally related to youth, would be an asset. A proven capability of building and leading high-performance teams, plus the ability to inspire confidence to internal and external stakeholders, will equip this individual for success. Strong communications, relationship and team-building skills, and a hands-on and empowering leadership style will be critical. Unquestioned personal and professional integrity, a good sense of humour, and a healthy dose of emotional intelligence will also be important traits of the successful candidate.
