MOSAIC is a registered charity serving immigrant, newcomer and refugee communities in Greater Vancouver for the past 40 years. Supported by a Board of Directors, , the organization manages a $20 million plus budget annually with more than 300 staff, 450 volunteers and 300 contractors.  Services are delivered from 26 client-accessible sites and include settlement assistance, English language training, employment programs, interpretation and translation services, counselling services, and community outreach for families and individuals including children, youth, and seniors.  MOSAIC also offers services for the LGBTQ and temporary foreign worker communities.

MOSAIC is one of the largest settlement organizations in Canada. Provincially, MOSAIC provides more employment supports and programs than any other immigrant serving organization in B.C.  Our expertise in employment services resulted in MOSAIC being the only immigrant serving organization to be awarded a contract to deliver services through the B.C. Government’s Employment Program of B.C.


Job Description

POSITION:  

Executive Assistant

 

DEPARTMENT:

Employment & Language Services

 

POSITION FUNCTION:

This position is responsible for playing a key role in support of effective and innovative services that build the language and employment skills of refugees and immigrants.

 

Reporting to the Director of Employment and Language Services, provides administrative support to the Director and the Departmental Leadership Teams.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Minimum Knowledge:

  • Good working knowledge of standard office equipment, Microsoft Office Suite, social media, and general office procedures.

 

Education:

  • Post-Secondary education in office administration, project management or equivalent experience.

 

Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and conflict resolution skills.  Skilled in using specified software. Organized. Able to set priorities and meet deadlines.

 

Personal Suitability:

  • Able to work independently and with a team, is diplomatic and exercises discretion.

 

Desirable Skills /Experience:

  • Certificate in Office Administration/Clerical Support or project management. Working knowledge of the immigrant and refugee serving sector, employment and/or language services.

 

HOURS:

This is a full-time (35 hours per week) ongoing position

 

  STARTING PAY:

$34,325 - $38,638 per annum (depending on experience)

 

 

A competitive benefits package is provided with contracts of at least 1 year in length which offer a minimum of 17.5 hours of work per week.
