Reporting to the Executive Director, Government Relations, you will work closely with the team to develop and implement an integrated government relations, communications and stakeholder relations strategy. You will build relationships and liaise principally with federal parliamentarians and officials to advocate on issues of importance to the pharmaceutical industry. You will monitor activities in the federal and/or provincial and territorial health files, proactively contribute to the development of Industry positions, and respond appropriately to the environment. You will also support various member-based teams, and provide analysis and recommendations on existing and proposed legislative and regulatory actions. You will work closely with colleagues across the organization to ensure all government relations activities are aligned with the Association’s strategic priorities, and continuing to deliver value to members and Canadians.
As the ideal candidate, you possess excellent written and verbal communications skills, and the organizational awareness, political acuity and good judgment to effectively position Innovative Medicines Canada with a diverse group of stakeholders and government officials in a politically charged and fluid environment. You are an engaging and effective advocate in your dealings with governments, and display great comfort in operating in a fast-paced, challenging and often ambiguous environment. You are knowledgeable of the health care sector and have a deep understanding of federal, provincial and territorial relations. Creative, strategic and analytical, you embrace complexity and challenge with energy, enthusiasm and a bias to action. Your ability to communicate in both official languages is a prerequisite for this position.
