Manager, Quality Assurance and Risk Management

Reporting to the Executive Director, the successful candidate will ensure that Community Living Wallaceburg operates in compliance with all applicable government legislation and required standards of accreditation.  You will be responsible for the development and maintenance of the integrated Quality Improvement and Risk Management processes of the Agency and serve as the designated privacy consultant for the Agency.

You are a strategic and tactical partner in helping to create a culture of continuous quality improvement at Community Living Wallaceburg.  In this position, you will manage and coordinate organization-wide and program specific efforts that are developed, implemented and managed using a data-driven focus that sets priorities for improvements aligned with ongoing strategic objectives.

The Manager oversees the development, implementation and adherence to the organization’s policies and procedures covering the privacy of individual’s health information in compliance with legislation.  This position also provides leadership to ensure that Quality Assurance initiatives and Risk Management tools are focused and aligned on improving operational efficiencies and effectiveness to support safer quality supports and outcomes for individuals and their families.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of quality improvement,  risk management and performance measurement methodologies

  • Working knowledge/experience in  evaluation tools and techniques

  • Working knowledge in information privacy risk assessments

  • Demonstrated analytical, critical thinking, problem resolution and decision making capabilities.

  • Leadership skills that demonstrate decision making, goal setting and a focus on continuous learning and education

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to exercise tact, diplomacy and good judgment at all times

  • Ability to work with and relate to management, interdisciplinary team members and other stakeholders in a professional & confidential manner;

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-secondary education gained through Community College Diploma or University Degree with specialization in Human Services or related field of study

  • 6-8 years progressive experience within the Developmental Services or related sector in a leadership capacity

  • Valid certificate in First-Aid, Cardiovascular Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Safe Management are required

  • Valid Class “G” driver’s license, one million dollar automobile liability insurance and a reliable vehicle for use at work are required.

  • Criminal conviction background search including vulnerable sector screening.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. French language and Sign language proficiency considered an asset

    OTHER:

  • Normal hours of work are 40 per week

  • Will be required to adapt working hours to respond to the needs of individuals supported, Agency and community event
