President and CEO, Federation of Rental-housing Providers of Ontario (FRPO)

The Federation of Rental-housing Providers of Ontario (FRPO) is the voice of Ontario’s rental housing industry and the leading advocate for quality rental housing, representing those who own, manage, build and finance, service, and supply residential rental homes. The association represents more than 2,200 rental property owners and managers, from those with one small building or a single rental unit, up to the largest property management firms and institutional owners. Province wide, these members collectively own or manage over 350,000 households and have grown to be an important promoter of a balanced and healthy housing market, offering a choice for consumers, adequate government assistance for low-income households, and private sector solutions to rental-housing needs. 

The new President and CEO will be a strong advocate for the industry, growing the organization’s position as a thought leader in the minds of government, members, and the public.  S/he will be a trusted advisor to the FPRO Board of Directors and membership, with strong leadership skills, experience managing an organization, and excellent communications skills. The new President and CEO will also develop programs and initiatives that support members as they seek to provide quality rental units and grow consumer confidence. 

As an ideal candidate, you understand government and have a track record of effective advocacy while working with both elected and non-elected partners to impact policy in a positive and constructive way. You have a high degree of integrity and ethics plus the ability to build consensus, to harmonize the differing points of view of a variety of stakeholders, and to take the lead when necessary to achieve a common purpose. You are a leader with sound financial management and business acumen along with superior decision-making and problem-solving skills. You are energetic with a consultative and open style and the ability to multi-task and be flexible. You are a natural leader with demonstrated experience directing and leading staff, mentoring, and mobilizing them towards ambitious goals.
