Director of Member Services and Communications

The Union of British Columbia Performers (UBCP/ACTRA) is an autonomous branch of ACTRA (Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists), the national organization of professional performers working in the English-language recorded media in Canada. UBCP/ACTRA represents the interests of more than 7,000 members across BC and the Yukon.

Working within a co-leadership model and reporting to the Executive Board, the Director of Member Services and Communications (the Director) will lead the UBCP/ACTRA’s Member Services Department and Communications Department. The Director will oversee initiatives that celebrate the accomplishments of the UBCP/ACTRA members, through promotion, communications, and engagement. The Director will advance member engagement in the union through offering a robust offering of educational and member services designed to further the professional development of the UBCP/ACTRA performers. The Director will support the Executive Board and the organization in successfully delivering the UBCP/ACTRA’s strategic objectives and accountabilities, with direct oversight of union staff.

This is a dynamic opportunity for an innovative and experienced leader who is committed to supporting the strongest union of cultural workers in Canada. The Director will develop and sustain relationships, partnerships, and alliances across the broad spectrum of industry stakeholders required to enhance membership value and organizational awareness. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal, communication, promotion, and planning skills with the ability to organize, moderate, and facilitate strategic discussions and opportunities.
