We are seeking a visionary executive leader and strategic financial expert to help drive the transformation of the provision of health services in British Columbia

The Ministry of Health has the largest operating budget of all ministries, as well as one of the largest capital budgets, and is responsible for some of the largest and most complex infrastructure projects in the Province.

The Assistant Deputy Minister of Financial Corporate Services (ADM FCS) plays a leadership role in corporate initiatives for the Ministry and has a unique vantage point, overlooking every business line within the Ministry and across the health sector. This enables the ADM FCS to engage in creative corporate problem-solving to strategically assist Ministry Executive in mid- and long-range direction through effective resource allocation and proactively anticipating what is needed for success. 

In this role, you will be called on to work as a member of the executive team to help move corporate initiatives forward related to health sector strategic management, fiscal management, activity-based cost analysis and management, business transformation and technology implementation across the health sector. You will provide direction and advice respecting all internal matters of financial administration, including preparing the ministry budget and monitoring and reporting on expenditures internally, externally and with central agencies.

We are looking for a senior strategic financial executive with expertise in financial management and financial policy development. A strong grounding in program and service delivery in the public sector, experience leading change and business transformation, and the ability to manage a multi-faceted and complex scope of work is required for the role of Assistant Deputy Minister. This role necessitates that the successful candidate be a highly effective communicator with a collaborative approach to work with multiple stakeholders, and the ability to negotiate.
