President and Chief Executive Officer

Grand River Hospital Foundation (GRHF) supports the financial needs of Grand River Hospital (GRH), one of Ontario’s largest and most unique community hospitals. GRH is a key partner in health sciences learning and has a rapidly growing role in academic research while providing compassionate, innovative, quality care to more than 700,000 residents of Waterloo Region, Guelph and Wellington County, and serving a natural catchment area of over 1 million residents. Situated in one of the largest and fastest growing regions of Ontario and one of the world’s most innovative research and commercialization technology hubs, GRH is strategically focused on enabling the Region’s pillars of innovation, education and collaboration.  A testament to its success is its recent recognition as one of the five safest hospitals in Canada.

In the last few years, through the generosity of donors, GRHF was able to provide $8 million per year for patient care equipment needs, capital building projects and renovations, as well as local clinical requirements, and health research and education. GRHF is actively partnering with GRH to address the significant capital project requirements that will ultimately impact the future direction of the organization and, most importantly, improve patient care. GRHF’s vision is to inspire a philanthropic environment where everyone in the community understands and passionately supports exceptional health care. The investments that donors have and continue to make into new facilities, equipment and programs at GRH have helped to improve care and bring advanced new procedures closer to home. With the Safer, Faster, Smarter campaign building momentum, there is an opportunity to transform care delivery through enabling technological breakthroughs and advancements.
