Founded in 1930 to encourage the development of tourism in Canada, the Tourism Industry Association of Canada (“TIAC”) serves today as the national private-sector advocate for this $102 billion sector. THE POSITION

The Stakeholder Project Analyst will manage daily project activities and contribute to TIAC’s Canadian Experience Fund initiative. In partnership with stakeholders across Canada this project will build capacity in rural communities in Winter and Shoulder sessions and in Culinary Tourism. The Analyst will also contribute to different project efforts where required as part of a cross-functional team. The position is for a 15-month term, with a possibility to be extended.

Required competencies and experience:

  • post secondary diploma or degree in either; Tourism, Events, Business, Human Resources, Education, or a related field, or a combination of similar educational background and work experience in; project management, event management, communications, project analysis, project evaluation, instructional design or similar;
  • project management experience including the ability to lead long-term and/or multi dimensional projects;
  • strong budgeting and project analysis skills are required
  • exceptional written and oral communications skills across diverse audiences;

Other Desirable Skills and Qualifications

  • knowledge of the Tourism sector
  • an excellent capacity for accuracy and clear analytical thinking;
  • ability to work independently and efficiently;
  • project reporting experience;
  • demonstrated ability to translate complex information into easy to understand terms with a diverse group, including determining the precise nature of their request and its degree of urgency; and
  • experience managing budgets.

Additionally, a successful candidate would demonstrate strong interpersonal and professional skills, including, but not limited to:

  • analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • collaboration and ability to work in diverse, multi-dimensional teams;
  • demonstrated ability to take initiative and ownership over projects; and
  • time management and organizational skills.

**Fluency in both English and French is considered an asset.**
