Chief Executive Officer

Speech-Language & Audiology Canada (SAC) is a member-driven, national non-profit association that represents over 6,800 communication health professionals (speech-language pathologists, audiologists and communication health assistants). SAC is seeking a dynamic and innovative leader who, as CEO, will build upon our 56-year history of passionately supporting and representing our professions and championing the needs of people with communication disorders.

The CEO will represent SAC nationally and internationally on issues related to speech-language pathology and audiology practice, in collaboration with the Chair/Board of Directors and will be responsible for the successful management of the Association according to the strategic direction set by the Board of Directors.

The successful candidate will be a visionary and results-oriented individual with demonstrated ability to guide a dedicated team of staff members to deliver exceptional support to our members and associates as well as stakeholders that benefit from a nation-wide focus on communication health issues.  Within a rapidly-changing political and professional environment, the CEO will be a values-driven change-leader, bringing a strong history of articulate, collaborative and inclusive engagement with Directors, stakeholders and senior staff members to all association business.  The CEO is a dynamic, adaptable strategic leader, ensuring the Association develops and successfully implements all aspects of the Strategic Plan while maintaining a constant surveillance over significant changes in the professional environment that may influence strategy.

Candidates will bring superior leadership and governance expertise, along with a successful record in proactive management, advocacy and government relations. Experience working in a senior leadership role in the not-for-profit or national association/NGO sector, ideally related to healthcare, would be an asset, as would be a CAE designation. SAC requires a leader who possesses excellent interpersonal and diplomatic skills and will be an effective and professional communicator in all respects, operating collegially and collaboratively at all levels across the country. Proficiency in both official languages is desirable. We invite you to visit the website at www.sac-oac.ca to view the job profile and learn more about SAC.
