President and CEO, Fertilizer Canada
Fertilizer Canada represents manufacturers, wholesale and retail distributors of nitrogen, phosphate, potash, and sulphur fertilizers. The fertilizer industry plays an essential role in Canada’s economy, contributing over $23 billion annually and employs 76,000 workers across Canada. The industry takes great pride in advocating for sustainability, stewardship, safety, and security in the sector, and adheres to world class and industry leading industry standards and Codes of Practice. As the foundation of Canada’s agri-food sector, the industry has developed some innovative solutions that help ensure that Canada remains a world class leader in the sector.
As President and CEO you will report to the Board of Directors through the Chair of the Board and will be responsible for the day to day and long-term vision at Fertilizer Canada. You will play an active role in sustaining a positive public awareness of the industry, recommend strategic direction to the Board, and safeguard lasting and constructive relationships with government, associations, and other agri-food groups. You will oversee Fertilizer Canada’s staff, and ensure the continued high quality of the service and benefits that Fertilizer Canada provides to all its members.
As a well-qualified candidate, you are a creative and innovative leader, known for your consultative leadership style and superb communication skills. You are an inclusive and supportive manager, with a track record of building consensus and encouraging collaboration. You excel when working with a wide variety of stakeholders and are comfortable acting as both the internal and external representative for industry. You are characterised by your peers as a listen-first leader with impeccable integrity, vision, and drive. You have management experience, enjoy leading a dynamic team, and have experience leading successful advocacy and government relations initiatives on behalf of industry members.
