Programs and courses at MacEwan are offered through several Faculties and Schools: Faculty of Arts and Science, Faculty of Fine Arts and Communications, Faculty of Health and Community Studies, Faculty of Nursing, School of Business, and School of Continuing Education.

Reporting to Provost and Vice-President Academic, the Dean, School of Business is responsible for providing the overall strategic, academic, and administrative direction of the School. As a member of the Provost’s senior administration team and the General Faculties Council, the Dean will collaborate with MacEwan’s leadership to support the University’s strategic goals and priorities, and advance the culture and reputation of the School of Business.

The Dean will effectively manage resources, promote teaching and scholarly excellence, advance research, and nurture mutually beneficial relationships internally and externally. The Dean will have the demonstrated ability to assess broad and diverse interests, show commitment across multiple stakeholder groups, and balance informed decision-making with consultation. The Dean will engage and inspire students, faculty, staff, and alumni, and have the capacity to develop collaborative partnerships with all orders of government, business and industry, and the communities in Edmonton and the surrounding area.

The successful candidate will have experience in a leadership role within university administration, preferably as a Dean, Associate Dean, Department Chair or Director, coupled with a strong record in teaching, research, scholarship, and service with eligibility for an appointment to a tenured academic position as a full Professor. The ideal candidate is approachable, community orientated, embraces collaboration, can build long-term and trustworthy relationships, and is a highly ethical individual that values integrity, honesty, and equity.
