CEO - Children's Mental Health Ontario

Who We Are:
Children’s Mental Health Ontario (CMHO) is a not-for-profit, member-based organization that represents almost 100 of Ontario’s publicly-funded and accredited child and youth mental health centres operating in the context of the child and youth mental health sector. Our mission is to ensure that children and youth get the mental health treatment they need within a coordinated and high-performing system of care, so that infants, children, and youth get the mental health supports they need to thrive. To accomplish this, we advocate for investments, policies, and programs for children, youth, and families seeking mental health services in Ontario and work collaboratively with partners in the mental health and addictions sectors and across children and social services. Our advocacy work, on behalf of the sector, aims to champion system change and improvements to address the lack of capacity and equity, so that the needs of all children and youth with mental health issues are met, regardless of who they are, what needs they have, or where they live in Ontario.

The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is the operational head of the organization and is responsible for all CMHO activities, services, financial affairs, risk management, and results in achievement of CMHO’s vision and mission. Rooted in a commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and Indigeneity, the CEO fosters the values of the organization and provides leadership, counsel, and guidance in planning and directing CMHO, implementing the strategic plan and maintaining effective relations between CMHO and its member agencies and with external stakeholders, including government. Leading an engaged team of 11, the CEO develops recommendations to improve the quality of services within a quality child and youth mental health system and works to strengthen CMHO’s advocacy efforts and public policy influence to expand access to care, improve equity, and increase system capacity.
