Since being founded in 1938 by a small group of loan inspectors from Winnipeg, the Appraisal Institute of Canada (AIC) has been dedicated to advancing the real estate valuation profession for the benefit of both our members and the public. The AIC is Canada’s leading real property valuation association, providing high-quality property advisory services across the country with over 5,400 members nationally/internationally. For the last 80 years, AIC has worked collaboratively with its 10 affiliated provincial associations to grant the distinguished Accredited Appraiser Canadian Institute (AACI™) and Canadian Residential Appraiser (CRA™) designations. As a self-regulating organization, with a Mission to promote and support our members in providing advisory services for the benefit of clients, employers and the public, we very regularly review our Strategic Plan to keep it relevant and to reflect the realities of today’s marketplace. Due to the planned retirement of its long serving current CEO, AIC is now seeking a strategic, collaborative and innovative leader to take the Institute through its next phase of evolution. AIC’s next CEO will have an opportunity to bring strategic vision, progressive practices, and innovation to an organization with a supportive Board, a proud past, and a bright future.

You demonstrate a tireless focus on AIC’s membership programs and services, marketing/branding, strong strategic orientation and predisposition for collaboration at public and private fora. You will lead as the champion of the national property appraisal profession and continue the strong advocacy trajectory of the Association. You will also lead and drive the necessary change and innovation to value-added services for both members and consumers, appreciating and acknowledging the regional cultural nuances across the country. Constant awareness of the everyday emerging market and consumer issues and trends will be foremost in your mindset.
The ideal candidate will be an engaging and strategic leader with strong consultation and collaboration skills, and will bring a track record of success, progressive financial leadership skills and awareness in creating and executing a relevant and progressive strategy in complex organizations.
