Director, Marketing & Communications
St. John Ambulance, British Columbia & Yukon
St. John Ambulance, British Columbia & Yukon (SJA BCY) is a not for profit, mission-led enterprise, committed to ‘empowering safer communities through first aid leadership’. SJA BCY is part of the federated St. John Ambulance organization in Canada, which is represented from coast to coast and is the only national first aid training provider recognized in every Canadian province and territory. SJA BCY is privileged to be part of an organization with over 900 years of service to humanity and today it is a market leader in the development and delivery of first aid courses, first aid products, and the provision of first aid in communities through its 1500 plus volunteers. A unique opportunity has arisen to play a key leadership role in continuing to bring SJA BCY’s brand and story to life as the organization’s new Director, Marketing & Communications.
Reflective of its vital contributions to communities throughout BC and Yukon, the SJA BCY story is rich and emotional. But it needs to be told with greater breadth, depth, and impact. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, and a member of the SJA BCY Executive Team, the Director, Marketing & Communications (the Director) is responsible for telling that story and leveraging SJA BCY’s brand – both of which have been identified as key differentiators. The organization’s audiences are highly diverse, including commercial customers, government agencies, first aid instructors, volunteers, and community leaders. The Director will drive a cohesive brand agenda across multiple channels while creating powerful emotional connections with SJA BCY’s varied audience groups; all leading to improved commercial and community impact outcomes.
