ABOUT US

Dietitians of Canada (DC), a professional association representing 5,000 members at local, provincial, and national levels, provides a leadership voice for advancing health through nutrition and ensures that dietitians have the best opportunities to experience professional success throughout their careers. On behalf of its members and the dietetic profession, DC engages with policymakers, health practitioners, and the Canadian public to advance health through food and nutrition. As an organization, DC develops evidence-based standards and resources, promotes better access to dietitians, provides leadership in shaping food and nutrition policy, and recognizes members’ leadership and contributions to the profession.   

DC seeks an outstanding new leader to help the organization develop its next strategic plan, navigate a changing landscape, deliver value to members, and create opportunities for dietitians to advance health through food and nutrition. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director (ED) is responsible for the successful operations and financial management, team development, and strategic leadership towards sustainability and growth of the organization.

ABOUT YOU

You are a visionary, transparent, and approachable leader with a track record of success in change management and business leadership towards organizational sustainability. With 10+ years of progressive experience in a provincial or national organization, you bring significant financial management and Association leadership experience and are looking for a new and exciting challenge. Familiarity with Policy Governance® is required and bilingualism (French and English) is preferred. You champion diversity, equity, and inclusion and establish strong, productive relationships with staff, members, and a wide variety of stakeholders. Drawing on substantive experience in change leadership, in this role, you will utilize your exemplary decision-making and communications skills to ensure and accelerate DC’s ability to bring value to its members, deliver on its vision and priorities, and elevate the influence of the profession.
