Chief Executive Officer

The history of the Regina Board of Trade (now Regina & District Chamber of Commerce) dates back to the initial formation of the town back in the early 1880s. Formation of the Boards of Trade was to allow business owners a voice when dealing with the Canadian Pacific Railroad, town officials and the Federal Government. The fundamental role of the Chamber has endured throughout the decades but has evolved to meet the ever-changing needs of the business community.  By providing a collective voice, the Chamber is able to promote economic growth with, and on behalf of its members and in turn, the community at large.

As CEO, you will serve as an ambassador of the business community, forging relationships predicated on trust, clarity, and collaboration.  Working with the Board, you will propose policy directions that stimulate the local economy, lobby for reasonable regulations, and taxation that invites industry and investment to the City; and to inform, research and manage issues/opportunities impacting business growth. Hallmarks of success in the role will be predicated on strong advocacy work and programming to chart a path to broaden service offerings, support for education and workforce development, and champion economic development and recovery.

You are most likely an experienced executive with previous exposure to board governance, strategic and financial planning, human resources, communication, change management, and policy advocacy, ideally within a member driven environment.

Your formal preparation for the role might include a combination of:

  • Post secondary education in public administration, business, commerce, political science and or several years of progressive management experience working with a board, board executives and committees of a board, either in your work-life or volunteer life.
