Senior Manager, Environment and Sustainability

Have you considered a challenging career in a small yet dynamic team environment? Do your ideas draw on current environmental best practices to engage people in meaningful environmental solutions in an industry context? If so, the Ontario Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (OSSGA) invites you to join its team as Senior Manager, Environment & Sustainability.

In this role you will be responsible for monitoring and writing submissions reflecting the views of the members on proposed legislative, regulatory and policy changes posted for comment on the Environmental Registry of Ontario. Your work will focus on a wide variety of aggregate-related environmental issues including land rehabilitation, water management and research, air and noise ECAs, sustainable development initiatives, research and education on non-renewable resource management, and you will be responsible for communicating these concepts to many stakeholders across Ontario. You will zero in on the challenges facing the industry by engaging potential partners in initiatives that create innovative solutions. You will act as a staff liaison on several external and internal committees. You will also work closely on regional initiatives across the province. You will communicate directly to OSSGA members through workshops, bulletins and electronic media.

Additionally, you will work with members and outside stakeholders to celebrate the achievements of the industry through our various awards programs, and have staff oversight of our Health & Safety Committee.

You have a post-secondary degree in environmental management, education, land use planning, or landscape architecture (or the equivalent), with a minimum five years professional experience in the aggregate industry (or a related resource management sector). You are a proven team player, an excellent writer committed to finding long-term solutions who is comfortable making presentations ready and willing to engage with OSSGA’s membership.

OSSGA is a non-profit industry association representing over 260 member companies. The industry is a fundamental part of Ontario’s economic growth and prosperity, and is committed to environmental sustainability through innovation and research.

Only those candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
