Credit Counselling Society is a non-profit charitable organization and a founding member of Credit Counselling Canada (CCC), a national association of non-profit credit counselling agencies. Our Counsellors and Educators give hope to tens of thousands of Canadians each year by helping them find solutions to their debt and money problems, learn new skills and regain financial stability.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the President & CEO (CEO) is accountable for the ongoing sustainability of the organization as well as the execution of the Society’s current strategic direction, so as to deliver on the overall mission and objectives of CCS. The CEO leads the organization’s transformation and growth strategy for credit counselling services including the management of significant and complex partnerships, change initiatives, and the advancement of the organizational vision. The incumbent will be at the forefront of the organization’s efforts to innovate within the sector, and be a strong advocate of the Society.

 

The ideal candidate is an exceptional, innovative leader that blends a passion for improving the lives of those in debt, and possesses deep-rooted community values with business effectiveness. Ideally, the candidate brings senior leadership experience running all aspects of an organization with a strong understanding of the financial services industry. They have worked closely with Boards of Directors to guide strategy development and set priorities and have a reputation as an outstanding motivator and mentor.

 

This individual must be able to thrive in a caring work environment. Superior leadership, interpersonal and communication skills, and a personal values alignment with the organization are the hallmarks of a suitable candidate. In addition, the CEO is a compassionate individual and knows how to build great relationships, uncover new ideas, and inspire people to excel. The successful candidate brings a proven ability to constantly improve service and program delivery.
