Chief Executive Officer

The Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors (OAND) is a professional membership association that connects people who are interested in a proactive approach to their health care to the right naturopathic doctor for them, as well as provides leadership, advocacy and support for the naturopathic profession and its practitioners in Ontario.  Representing the province’s licensed naturopathic doctors as well as student members enrolled in an accredited school of naturopathic medicine, the OAND has grown substantially in recent years. As a key pillar in Ontario’s healthcare system, OAND’s vision is that Ontarians choose naturopathic doctors as an integral part of their primary healthcare team.

The Board is now seeking a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) who will provide leadership and direction and oversee the development and implementation of a new strategic plan.  Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will have overall accountability for the organization’s financial performance and stability, human resources and stakeholder/government relations while serving as an effective voice on behalf of the profession.  With a small, dedicated team, the CEO will engage with membership and oversee the implementation of the mission, vision and strategic plan while working to increase the reach and profile of the OAND in Ontario.

As the ideal candidate, you embrace the challenges that come with growth and change.  With an understanding of the health care system and the role of an association in promoting the interests of its members, you have demonstrated the ability to build and cultivate productive relationships with government and key stakeholders.  You bring a track record of working with tact and diplomacy to achieve a common vision and have a strong appreciation for a professional member focused association. You have a demonstrated track record of success in senior leadership roles with strategic planning functions and working with Boards/Committees.  You bring outstanding interpersonal and communications skills coupled with solid financial and human resource management skills, and have demonstrated the ability to address complex, evolving issues in an environment with limited resources.  Ideally with non-profit/association experience and a keen interest in the value of naturopathic medicine, you are looking for an opportunity to shape the future for naturopathic medicine in the Ontario.
