The College of Physiotherapists of Ontario is the body that regulates the more than 11,000 physiotherapists in Ontario. The College sets rules and develops programs to ensure that members of the physiotherapy profession practice in the best interest of the public. The vision of the College is to inspire public confidence in the physiotherapy profession.

 

As the Registrar & CEO, you will report to Council and act as a collaborative leader in the development and implementation of the College’s vision, mission, values and strategic goals. Responsibilities will include providing timely and relevant policy and program information and recommendations to Council and its Committees as well as leading and mentoring senior staff by setting and monitoring individual and College-wide performance measures. To be successful, you will need to develop strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensure organizational effectiveness, implement measures and benchmarks for meeting operational objectives and managing the ongoing regulatory business of the College. In collaboration with the President, you will act as an ambassador and spokesperson for the College. Most importantly, you will also champion equity, diversity and inclusion across the organization, to ensure the College reflects the public it serves while acting in the public interest.

 

As the ideal candidate, you are a proven professional with successful experience leading an organization that meets or exceeds the needs of its stakeholders and is known for excellence in governance and operations. You have developed and implemented strategic plans and policy that will be embraced by all stakeholders and partners. Your experience includes working in a regulated environment, with provincial legislation and with by-laws and policies, and with an elected Council or Board. You have strong financial acumen and proven skills fulfilling your fiduciary responsibilities. You are an inspiring leader, a trusted collaborator, and a consensus builder who knows how to balance competing priorities. You will work to ensure the College fulfills its mandate to serve and protect the public interest. Ideally you have developed strong working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders that includes government, other regulators, and the academic community. In addition, you are well versed in EDI and the challenges faced by equity deserving communities.
