Created in 1978, Chicken Farmers of Canada (CFC) is a farmer-led and farmer-supported organization responsible for ensuring that roughly 2,800 farmers produce the right amount of fresh, safe, high-quality and sustainable chicken to meet industry standards and consumer demand. Headquartered in Ottawa with a staff of close to 25, this supply management entity is responsible for chicken raised and sold commercially in Canada with a mission to lead and grow a trusted and sustainable Canadian chicken sector to better serve consumers and grow consumer demand for Canadian-grown chicken. Sustainability, industry growth, and trust is the hallmark of their DNA.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director, Brand and Marketing will act as the brand ambassador and will be responsible for conceptualizing and executing brand and marketing strategies to increase the profile and image of the Chicken Farmers of Canada. This position will oversee the brand planning process that will include consumer research and the development of marketing strategies to engage consumers and encourage increased consumption of chicken raised by Canadian farmers. This position will collaborate closely with the Director of Public Affairs and Communications and its team to deliver and execute on their strategic priorities.
The ideal candidate is a strong brand marketing leader with hands on experience conceptualizing creative and innovative marketing strategies, brand programs and messaging, both digitally and in print. With strong communication skills and comfort interacting and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, they possess sound judgment along with the demonstrated ability to manage teams, external consultants and multiple projects in a cost-effective and data-driven manner. Adept in current and emerging marketing and communications technologies, candidates should demonstrate excellent research and analytical skills and experience tracking data and trends, matching purpose and audience. Entrepreneurial, strategic, and financially astute, the Director of Brand and Marketing must be able to manage a substantial budget while engaging and motivating a dedicated team and external consultants. Bilingual capability is required.
