Position: Associations Manager
Reports to: President
Direct Reports: Associations Coordinator, Events Manager, Staff Accountant
Position Overview:
Oversight of the Toronto Construction Association’s (TCA) managed association clients in terms of Board of Directors, events, education, membership, financials, marketing and communications, strategic plan initiatives.
Objectives:
- Help the managed associations achieve their goals.
- Increase revenue for TCA on the portfolio by renewing existing contracts, increasing the fees of existing contracts and attracting additional association contracts.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of each of the nine managed associations.
- Support the Board of Directors to facilitate their Board meetings and AGM.
- Organize meetings: prepare agenda, take minutes, maintain accurate records of all meetings.
- Financial responsibilities: Oversee the monthly and quarterly preparation of financial statements (with TCA’s staff accountant), prepare budgets for the Board of Directors approval, review variances, oversee audits.
- Event management: coordinate seminars, Annual General Meetings, social functions, workshops, tradeshows. Assist Events Manager with golf tournaments. All with the objective of maximizing attendance and revenue.
- Membership: work with the associations to retain and attract new members, with the goal of increasing revenue.
- Marketing and Communications: manage the associations’ messages for the industry, public and other stakeholders.
- Liaise with strategic partners to grow the associations.
- Support the implementation of associations’ initiatives.
- Supervise, train, conduct annual performance review of the Associations Coordinator, Events Manager and Staff Accountant.
- Respond to members, industry and public inquiries regarding the associations’ activities.
- Other projects that may be required or assigned by the TCA President.
