Events and Member Services Manager

About the Company: Construction Association in operation in the Greater Toronto Area and across the province; headquartered in Mississauga.

About the Position: The Association is seeking an Events and Member Services Coordinator to lead our outward facing initiatives. In this role, you will work collaboratively with members of the Association staff and our external stakeholders to deliver on our events and member service priorities. There will be some limited requirements for travel (less than 5%), as well as some requirements for outside-of-business-hours work (less than 5% - related to events hosting).

What You’ll Do:

  • Coordinate, develop, and source promotional and branding materials used for industry magazine, social media, programs, and event marketing initiatives.

 

  • Organize all Association events and membership activities. Responsible for preparing all event documentation and coordinating with internal and external partners to ensure consistent, high-level service and execution.

 

  • Responsible for working with staff and external vendors to develop event strategy; manage vendor relationships; track schedules, deliverables, etc.; and, conduct post-event retrospective reviews.

 

  • Manage digital event platform and work with partners to execute registration and event details.

 

  • Lead site visits (cities, hotels, restaurant, event venue) to ensure venues adheres to Association standards.

 

  • Ensure contracts and billing accuracy.

 

  • Bring creativity and new ideas to Association activities, always exploring new and innovative approaches.  

 

We're Looking For Someone Who Has:

 

  • 2+ years relevant work experience coordinating and managing events.

 

  • Highly analytical, positive attitude, detail and oriented.

 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Adobe Creative suite an asset.

 

  • Exceptional relationship management skills, ability to work in a close-knit team setting, and ability to build strong relationships with vendors, event organizers, member companies, partners and agencies.

 

  • Self-starter, comfortable taking initiative and thinking on your feet.
