DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS (Office in Ottawa, ON – with hybrid)
As the most used building material in the world, concrete is the foundation of our lives. It builds our homes, schools, office buildings and hospitals. It’s found in bridges, roads, electricity grids, and water infrastructure. Our industry helps generate $76 billion in economic activity and sustain over 150,000 jobs in Canada. Equally important, we need concrete as part of our net-zero future. As the primary component of concrete, cement, and how we produce it will have a profound impact on reducing emissions in Canada and around the world. As a durable building material, concrete can help us withstand the worst impacts of climate change such as fires and floods, as well as building a low carbon, competitive economy for Canada. At the Cement Association of Canada, our mission is to create optimal conditions for our industry to lead and thrive in a clean economy and we work tirelessly every day to exemplify leadership in industrial sustainability.
Canada’s cement and concrete industry recently launched Concrete Zero: Canada's cement and concrete industry's action plan to net-zero by 2050. We are looking for an experienced Director of Communications who will help the Association tell our story, elevate engagement with key audiences across Canada, and strengthen our industry’s leadership in solutions to climate change with governments and influencers in the building community.
