Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) & Executive Vice President (EVP), Operations is responsible for providing strategic leadership in all operational functions to support the delivery of BC Housing programs and services in supporting access of subsidized and affordable housing for British Columbians. This individual will guide and manage operational activities in accordance with the strategic direction, goals and objectives established by the CEO, Executive Team and Board of Commissioners.  

 

The COO & EVP, Operations leads the implementation of strategic imperatives in operational services.  The incumbent in the position designs operations strategies and creation of policies and systems to streamline internal processes for efficiency and ensure delivery of results and achievement of operational excellence.  The position develops and maintains effective relationships with private and non-profit partners, various government agencies, various associations and other key stakeholders in order to develop and deliver services across the organization.  The COO & EVP, Operations acts as a key contact with the Ministry of Housing, supporting the shift towards a cross-ministry collaboration on programming.   The position ensures the delivery of high-quality services and programs that are responsive to client needs.

 

The ideal candidate is a change agent and motivational leader who has had responsibility for providing effective operational leadership in a complex and progressive organization, ideally in the public or not-for-profit sector. Superior interpersonal and communication skills and a proven ability to think strategically and instill a service-focused and continuous improvement mindset are hallmarks of a suitable candidate. The incumbent will have demonstrated leadership and has been successful in developing, implementing and evaluating social programs, processes and systems that provide a high level of service and performance. This individual will bring considerable experience working with a wide range of partner groups to implement new initiatives and can move from consultation to results in an inclusive and collaborative way. The incumbent will uphold a commitment to principles of diversity, equity and inclusion.  

 

The targeted salary range for this position is $197,000 - $246,000 annually, supplemented by a competitive total rewards package.
