Placement and Program Coordinator

Role Description

This full-time on-site role is located in Vaughan, ON. As a Placement and Program Coordinator at RESCON, you will be responsible for supporting numerous RESCON initiatives including the implementation RESCON events including but not limited to webinars, symposiums, and AGMS; delivery and implementation of RESCON programs, training and education partnerships including the RESCON-GBC certificate program and labour supply initiatives including women in construction, immigration, recruitment, and retention. You will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure program success and contribute to the overall growth of the organization.

 

RESCON is a nimble organization which will allow the successful candidates to interact with all senior members of the RESCON team and gain exposure to a wide range of residential construction issues.

 

Reporting Relationships

 

This role reports directly to the Vice President and Director of Operations and work closely with the management team in a dynamic fluid work environment focused on meeting the needs of RESCON members.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

The successful candidate will support RESCON activities in the following areas:

 

  1. Events and Sponsorship

 

RESCON as a member driven organization and holds several events annually including webinars, AGMS, symposiums and summits. Tasks include:

  • Event planning including registration, speaker/exhibitor management, event promotion, utilizing MailChimp, Eventbrite, Neon, SurveyMonkey, Canva, Adobe, Zoom and/or other communication-based software systems
  • Event participation including public speaking, or directing question and answer segments
  • Event recap including the collection and analysis of event data
  • Create and execute sponsorship activities and event flyers tied to events and other RESCON activities

 

  1. Program Delivery

 

Support the delivery and perform tasks related to the RESCON labour supply activities, the RESCON-GBC construction management degree program, and other partnerships including but not limited to the broader public sector, construction committees, and construction industry. Tasks include:

  • Attend all related meetings (in person and virtual)
  • Material preparation (for meetings and program execution)
  • Program promotion including interaction with candidates, presentations, and networking
  • Program delivery including the creation and implementation of project plans. Activities will include meetings, interviews, placements, recruitment and retention, networking events, and other industry events as required
  • Stakeholder engagement with all project partners, participants, industry representatives, and research, documentation and data analysis related to program delivery

 

  1. Social Media and Communications

 

RESCON is very active in various media including a monthly newsletter, over 12 columns, and on social media (twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram). Tasks include:

  • Prepare social media posts and participate on social media platforms
  • Create key messages for area of work/ expertise
  • Opportunity to author blogs, columns, and expand our social media presence

 

  1. Other

 

Participate in all RESCON Board and Committee meetings as required (ORCCA, RESCON-JRCA Board, Health and Safety, Training and Education)

 

Qualifications

 

  • 4-year bachelor’s degree and/or relevant diploma including but not limited to political science, business, economics, education, legal or human resources. Preference given to candidates focused on program delivery and event planning

 

Experience

 

  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience in the not-for-profit, government, industry association, or private sector
  • Excellent resource, planning, written, communication and time management skills
  • Effective written communication and presentation skills and ability to develop tailored materials and messages for a range of audiences
  • Excellent teamwork skills and an ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work on issues related to program development, delivery, and placements
  • Proven ability to manage and present during online and in-person events
  • Time management and organizational skills to manage several files simultaneously and meet deadlines as an individual and as a member of project teams
  • Recent industry experience would be a strong asset. Self-motivated and proactive with an established track record of effectively completing tasks independently, demonstrated through project management, relationship management or equivalent
