Bilingual Membership Services Officer

Speech-Language & Audiology Canada (SAC) is a national non-profit association that represents over 7000 communication health professionals (speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and communication health assistants).

Membership Services Officer
SAC is seeking a dynamic, forward-thinking, and bilingual person to join our Membership team.

OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION
Reporting to the Manager of Membership and Programs, the Membership Services Officer supports SAC’s membership programs and services. This role involves collaboration with internal teams, building relationships with members, and ensuring effective program delivery.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Member Support
• Acts as the primary point of contact, responding to inquiries about membership programs and services
• Processes membership applications and renewals
• Supports key membership programs, including developing application forms and program materials
• Provides administrative assistance to designated SAC committees and volunteers, as required.
• Performs other administrative duties, as assigned.


Member Database
• Maintains and updates the SAC membership database, assisting stakeholders in navigation.
• Establishes and maintains membership files.
• Produces database reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Assists in developing database components for membership and certification programs.

Member Recruitment & Engagement
• Works with the SAC team to develop and implement strategies and initiatives to encourage the recruitment and retention of members and associates.
• Plays a key administrative role in SAC’s annual renewal campaign
• Supports the promotion of SAC’s partner programs for members and associates
• Contributes membership-related content to SAC’s online publications and campaigns
• Assists with outreach campaigns, including email and telephone calls during the annual renewal period

Program Support:
• Administration and support of the Mentorship program, Certification program and the Special Interest Groups (SIG). Includes attending a few evening SIG meetings throughout the year.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Language: Bilingualism (English/French) Mandatory
• Education: Completion of post-secondary education
• Experience: 2-5 years of related administrative experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with online membership databases/software and in a professional association environment, particularly in member services, is a strong asset.
• Skills:
o Effective verbal and written communication in both English and French.
o Congenial personality with strong collaboration and customer service abilities.
o Highly organized, detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize, work under pressure, and meet deadlines on multiple projects.
o Ability to develop and communicate solutions to diverse problems/requests.
o Proficient in Microsoft Office (Advanced Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Knowledge of SharePoint, MS Teams, Zoom, and Survey Monkey is an asset.

POSITION TYPE
• Permanent, full-time (35 hours a week) with a hybrid work model (3 days home/2 days in office). Some occasional evening work is required

LOCATION:
• The ideal candidate is based in the Ottawa area and can work in the office on a hybrid model. Remote work may be considered for candidates who demonstrate exceptional qualifications and fit for the role. A remote position requires availability during business hours from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM Eastern, regardless of the candidate’s time zone.
