The Association of Condominium Managers of Ontario (ACMO) is a provincial membership organization seeking an Executive Director with outstanding association management skills.  

ACMO is the voice of condominium management in Ontario and the only professional association solely dedicated to supporting, educating, and promoting condominium managers and management firms. Since 1977, ACMO has cultivated an engaged learning community of over 1,800 members pursuing excellence in the field of condominium management. ACMO offers connection to a community where members have opportunities to develop professionally, advance their collective interests, and increase their value to employers and clients. The association provides professional designations, continuing education, resources, expertise, networking, and advocacy while adhering to higher standards that go beyond the minimum licensing requirements.  We Elevate Condominium Management.

ACMO requires an individual equally skilled at conceiving and executing strategy as managing operations to make it happen. The Executive Director will provide leadership to the Board in executing the strategic plan and growing the size, reach and influence of ACMO’s professional community.

The successful candidate will be working from the association’s office in north Mississauga (401/Mississauga Road) with an existing complement of staff.

The responsibilities of the ACMO Executive Director include:

  • Ongoing development and implementation of strategic and operating plans to achieve the association’s goals for membership growth, educational leadership, brand awareness and organizational excellence.
  • Conceiving and deploying strategies and tactics to expand the size and reach of ACMO’s professional condominium management community throughout Ontario while improving member recruitment, acquisition, retention, and satisfaction.
  • Executing best-of-class, value-added programming, including educational opportunities, events, and professional designations.
  • Developing and executing effective marketing and communication strategies to drive a high degree of member engagement and understanding of the ACMO value proposition.
  • Management and optimization of day-to-day operations of the association, including monitoring financial performance and organizational objectives and Key Performance Indicators.
  • Promoting and advocating for ACMO, the members, and industry.  Serving as ACMO’s   ambassador/liaison to the condominium management industry maintaining effective relationships with government agencies, regulators, and other stakeholders.
  • Working closely with staff to enable and ensure their success, while optimizing organizational structure, policies, and procedures.
  • Responding effectively to members and actively supporting committee and volunteer leaders to ensure the needs of members are met.

The qualifications of applicants will include:

  • A bachelor’s degree in commerce/business management, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 years experience in senior management, preferably within a membership association.
  • Success working with, and advising, volunteer board of directors and committees.
  • Strong business management, human relations skills and financial acumen with a demonstrated ability to provide high level leadership and administrative service.
  • Marketing, promotional, public relations and sales experience. 
  • Outstanding written, presentation and communications skills.
  • Skilled at relationship building and comfortable working with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success in the delivery of effective plans to increase membership value (e.g., develop and expand relevant member services) and grow membership.
  • Government relations experience preferably in the professional and industry regulation.
  • An understanding of condominium management and condominium life in Ontario would be an asset.
  • Technologically proficient (MS Office, website, social media, etc.).
