Food Banks Canada’s vision is: A Canada Where No One Goes Hungry. Embarking on the implementation of its new Strategic Framework, Food Banks Canada wishes to recruit an accomplished program development leader to take the organization to its next level of achievement in providing national network leadership to relieve hunger today and prevent hunger tomorrow. In this newly created role, the Chief Network Services Officer will be responsible for managing the design, development and execution of Food Banks Canada’s network services, as well as leading a dynamic team of dedicated professionals. Network services at Food Banks Canada include granting programs, knowledge translation and exchange initiatives, the creation and oversight of standards initiatives, national corporate employee engagement program, and evaluation and impact arenas.

Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Network Services Officer will be accountable for shaping and implementing a strategic vision for the organization’s network programs and will be responsible for ensuring that Food Bank Canada’s network services are innovate, engaging and aligned with the organization’s core values of service and collaboration. This individual will support a high performing Network Council and will facilitate alignment on common standards for the network.

With exceptional communications and teamwork skills, the new Chief Network Services Officer will be a collaborative and diplomatic influencer and innovator who is passionate about leading systems change and challenging the status quo. Being both tactical and strategic, the ideal candidate brings a substantive experience in all aspects of program development, evaluation, including facility with performance metric and the motivation to validate the effectiveness of Food Banks Canada’s program, and the ability to translate outcomes and research into meaningful impact reports for partners. The individual sought shares a passion for Food Banks Canada’s mission and, as a leader, is motivated to create and sustain a transparent, collaborative and partnership-focused organizational culture. This individual will ideally have experience operating within a complex federated environment and/or building cohesion among diverse stakeholder groups. Bilingualism (French and English) and relevant post-secondary education and credentials in the areas of public administration or evaluation, are a definite asset.
