Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Manoir Ronald McDonald House Charities Ottawa (RMHO) is part of a network of 15 Ronald McDonald Houses across Canada. Our Mission is to provide a warm, safe, affordable and compassionate "home-away-from-home" for families with children who are seriously ill and being treated at nearby hospitals. Treatment of a sick child may take weeks, months or years and is very stressful for the child, the parents and the rest of the family, especially when they are miles from home.

RMHO is located on the campus of the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) and is independently operated and governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, managed by a staff team and supported by a full complement of dedicated volunteers. It also operates two “family rooms” at CHEO. RMHC Ottawa is also licensed to operate through RMHC Global which today represents 365 Houses, 213 Family Rooms and 50 Care Mobiles in 64 countries and regions around the world, annually serving over 5.5M children. Due to the planned and imminent retirement of our founding executive leader, we are now seeking our next Chief Executive Officer to lead our team and to be the face of the organization with the families we serve, our community, and a diverse and dedicated group of key partners and stakeholders.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will be a compassionate, collaborative and purpose-driven leader, whose inspiring, forward-thinking and organized style will deliver on the ongoing and evolving mission and strategic vision, financial objectives and program goals of the House. S/he will contribute to strategic planning and execute on operational and fundraising plans that achieve results and key milestones through people and financial leadership, and relationship-building skills. It will be critical in this role to collaboratively build important liaisons with staff, external partners and stakeholders to continue advancement of RMHO's mandate, including the House expansion feasibility plan. A demonstrable record of leading complex, multi-constituent organizations, and success in anticipating and delivering programs and service needs, as well as on fundraising targets through numerous delivery channels would be desirable. Experience working in a volunteer organization through a professional and efficient staff is key. RMHO’s next leader is a builder and mentor who is passionate about shaping a positive organizational culture, and growing talent to deliver tomorrow's best practices in programs and support services to our families with sick children as part of the continuum of family centered care in Canada.

The ideal candidate will have successfully led people, strategy and change in a complex, multi-stakeholder and multi-issue environment. association/NGO sector, ideally related to social services, youth, or health care would be an asset, as would be a CAE or CFRE designation. Proficiency in English is required, and proficiency in French is desirable. Please visit the website at www.rmhottawa.com to learn more about Ronald McDonald House Ottawa.
