Canada Health Infoway, an independent, not-for-profit organization funded by the federal government, continues to drive innovative efforts to improve the health of Canadians and the delivery of care across the country. Working with a wide range of partners, and supported by its Members who are the 14 federal, provincial and territorial Deputy Ministers of Health, Infoway is creating initiatives and developing products that are accelerating the development, adoption and effective use of digital health tools and programs. To deliver on its mandate and further strengthen its profile, Infoway is seeking an Executive Director, Federal Government Relations who will lead advocacy and awareness efforts from the Nation’s Capital.

Reporting to the Executive Vice President, Partnerships and Performance, the Executive Director will create and execute a robust federal relations strategy to support the federal government’s ongoing investments in digital health. To this end, the Executive Director will liaise with elected officials and their staff as well as key government departments, monitor and inform policy development, foster meaningful relationships with other national health and innovation organizations, including the pan-Canadian Health Organizations, Indigenous groups, and the private sector, and support and promote Infoway’s exciting new initiatives such as PrescribeITTM and ACCESS Digital Health.  On the ground in Ottawa, the Executive Director will be a key resource to Infoway’s CEO and management teams, ensuring that they are aware of activities, priorities and challenges at the federal level and providing market intelligence on national trends and developments.

As the ideal candidate, you are a trusted and respected advocate with significant experience interfacing with the federal or provincial governments and supporting elected officials. Your understanding of the public and private health care environments, at the policy, political and operational levels, will be valued as will your exposure to government funding processes.  As a colleague, you are known to display exceptional planning and organizational skills as well as strong interpersonal and communications skills.  You are a proven strategic leader and team player who demonstrates great initiative, integrity and a bias to action.  Your ability to communicate in both official languages would be considered an asset.
