Executive Director

The Bloom Group (TBG) has been serving the community for over 50 years, responding to the most urgent needs of Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. They embrace transformative solutions for resolving pressing and complex challenges and fill the gaps in areas that are critical to building a resilient community. Since 1961, TBG has led many of the community’s most progressive social services to reduce homelessness and offer affordable housing, provide end-of-life care, deliver housing and support for seniors and for individuals with mental health challenges and addictions, ensure women-led families in crisis can stay together as they rebuild their lives, and much more.

The opportunity exists for a collaborative and visionary senior leader to join The Bloom Group as the new Executive Director. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will have responsibility for the strategic leadership and management of the programmatic, financial and management operations of the organization, leveraging the organization’s assets, reputation and experienced and talented staff in the fulfillment of its vision and mission according to the strategic direction developed with and approved by the Board of Directors.

The ideal candidate will be a seasoned executive, with experience working in the non-profit sector preferably in a community, healthcare, housing or related organization leading, inspiring and managing a diverse staff. As the organization’s primary representative to the broader community, the Executive Director will have a high degree of political savvy, charged with overseeing multiple portfolios and fostering relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders – residents, government officials and agencies, funders, donors and other community members – in the fulfilment of TBG’s vision and mission.

This is a tremendous opportunity for a dynamic, driven and people focused non-profit industry executive to lead the strategic growth and direction of a highly successful and well established non-profit organization making a significant positive impact within Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside community and beyond.
