Executive Director

Since 1957, Community Living Ajax-Pickering and Whitby has been serving individual adults with developmental disabilities.  The agency is a dynamic and innovative organization dedicated to enhancing the life opportunities and community integration of all the people supported. 

Reporting to a volunteer Board of Directors, the new Executive Director will be a visionary, collaborative and skilled leader who will strategically guide the organization in achieving their new Vision and Mission on behalf of the people and communities served.   The key deliverables of this position involves growing an outstanding organizational culture, enhancing the range and quality of the programs supports offered in an ever changing service environment, building strong networks and partnerships, and actively engaging with the communities served. 

In leading a professional team of over 150 staff, the ideal candidate will preferably have a relevant Master’s degree and over ten years of senior level experience working with government funders and a Board of Directors.  The person we seek will have outstanding organizational development capacities, strong communication skills, a proven ability to motivate teams of staff and volunteers to achieve desired goals, and the strategic capabilities to continue to position the organization effectively in meeting the evolving needs of the people and communities engaged.  With a large geographical operation involving some 300 people served, an annual budget of nearly $9 million and an extensive partnership network, the new Executive Director will build on the organization’s achievements to create the next generation of services and outcomes for the individuals supported, their families and communities they live and work in.
