Manager of Registration and Licensing

Manager of Registration and Licensing

The Architectural Institute of British Columbia (“AIBC”) is an independent, professional self-governing body established in 1920 by provincial statute (the Architects Act) with the mandate to regulate the profession of architecture on behalf of the public.

The AIBC has an opportunity for an ambitious professional who is up for a rewarding challenge. We are seeking a full-time Manager of Registration and Licensing (“Manager”) to join our hardworking and motivated team. Reporting to and working closely with the Director of Registration and Licensing, this position plays a key leadership role within the department.

The Manager is primarily accountable for the operational processes of the Registration and Licensing department. This position will manage the annual renewal fee billing cycle, maintenance of the register, development of departmental policy, advancement of departmental projects, and implementation of strategic initiatives. The Manager will also research, analyze and administer registration programs and processes. This position oversees the daily functions of the Licensing Coordinator, Admissions Coordinator, and any temporary positions and/or support functions within the department.

You are a strong communicator with an interest in capacity development, project management, and are comfortable working with a member database. You jump at the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues on projects. You have the confidence and ability to motivate others and see projects through to completion and are able to juggle multiple major priorities. You have gained these capacities through the completion of a relevant bachelor’s degree and through three to five years of work experience in a professional office environment. Respect and appreciation for the profession of architecture is a must. This is an opportunity to shape the programs for registration of architecture, not just for the benefit of the AIBC, but for the profession of architecture as a whole.

The AIBC maintains institutional excellence through continuous improvement and mutual respect. Our team fosters a welcoming, progressive, collaborative, and innovative environment. You will be offered a comprehensive and competitive total rewards package, including membership in the Public Service Pension Plan. Working in our downtown Vancouver heritage building, we are centrally located near a variety of excellent cultural, restaurant and commuter options.
