SENIOR EXECUTIVE - $95,000 to $110,000

EASTERN REGION OF THE GTA

 

We are seeking a highly competent Senior Executive with broad leadership experience in Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Property Management and Quality/Risk Management to join the Leadership Team.  The successful candidate must have seasoned leadership experience in both Finance and Human Resources, plus sufficient experience in the other areas would be a definite asset.  Our client is a successful not-for-profit organization within the Eastern Region of the GTA and has been in existence for over 60 years.  The Senior Executive must have demonstrated leadership strength to effectively direct and lead a highly professional team.  This role is responsible for planning the strategic direction of the department in relation to development, implementation and coordination of policies, programs and services in accordance with the overall vision, mission and goals of the organization.  The Senior Executive is a member of the Director’s Team, Leadership Council and Quality Council providing leadership and support to these cross-functional teams.   The key roles of the Senior Executive are:

 

  • Recommends improvements in organizational business costs and operations, in conjunction with the CEO and, as required, to the Board of Directors
  • Leads Finance/Accounting/Budget Forecasting functions ensuring attainment of the organization’s fiscal operations and performance objectives
  • Manages Funder and Government accountability agreements ensuring availability of resources for the organization
  • Directs Human Resource Management which includes recruitment, employee relations, succession planning, total rewards/compensation, benefits, training/development and performance management
  • Directs Property Management functions ensuring maintenance of client relationships, properties and facilities including negotiation/approval of multi-year contracts and commitments for leases/insurance/supplier agreements
  • Directs Information Technology including the infrastructure and telecom services within the organization
  • Directs Quality and Risk Management ensuring the well-being of staff and clients
  • Ensures Legal compliance within policies and practices liaising, as needed, with the organization’s lawyer
  • Assists with the general management of the organization by attending high-level meetings and making policy decisions

 

This overall nature of this role focuses on the business aspects of the organization and works closely with the Chief Executive Officer to meet the goals of the organization and present reports to the Board of Directors, as well as ensures the successful implementation of short and long-term strategies and plans that service their clients.  The ideal candidate must possess the following competencies:

 

  • Post-graduate degree (Business Administration), a minimum of five years’ related executive management experience in a hospital, medical or clinical work environment and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Advanced knowledge and demonstrated ability to effectively lead Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Property Management and Quality/Risk Management functions within the organization
  • Strong ability to cultivate professional and credible business relationships with staff, Board of Directors, external clients/stakeholders, community organizations and funding bodies
  • Ability to reflect commitments to clients and the community by building supportive values into departmental policies and programs
  • Recognizes critical or sensitive issues making links to the organization’s priorities that fosters an inclusive and sensitive interpersonal climate
  • Actively listens to, and understands the impact on, others, as well as provides communication links up, down and throughout the organization/network
  • Inspires a commitment to excellence by demonstrating passionate personal commitment
  • Promotes consensus across diverse groups, interests and opinions
  • Demonstrates good ethics and moral standards in personal behaviour
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills
