Director of Finance

Director of Finance required for our growing nonprofit client in the healthcare space.

Reporting to the VP of Corporate Services, the Director of Finance will lead all financial matters while ensuring financial reporting integrity. We are looking for an experienced CPA with at least 10 years of finance management, including all financial data, reporting, and audit oversight, preferably in a program or nonprofit based environment.

This position requires someone with proven analytical skills including risk management assessment, financial forecasting and modeling, process improvement, cost accounting, and asset management.

Roles and Responsibilities
 

  • Develops and implements the organization's financial strategies, including working in partnership with the executive leadership team in operational and organizational strategic planning
  • Oversees and leads budgeting and planning
  • Directs banking, finance, and investment relationships
  • Directs all cost accounting, including financial and operational reports, monthly reports; clearly communicates financial statements and oversees all project and grant accounting
  • Assures compliance with government relationships and industry standards; leads annual audit process
  • Implements contracts management, financial management and reporting system; ensures financial data and cash flow are steady
  • Manages cash flow and forecasting
  • Manages financial assets
  • Provides supervision of financial staff, including providing advice and performance management
  • Maintains relationships at other nonprofit funding agencies
  • Provides advice and recommendations to the VP of Corporate Services on financial progress, changes, and initiatives



Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Commerce, or Business Administration
  • Professional Accounting Designation required (CPA, CGA, CMA)
  • Minimum of ten years of experience in finance, including financial management and people-leadership
  • Extensive knowledge of investments and various asset categories including bonds, hedge funds, equities, and pension funds
